Advancing FFA Programs for Everyone
The Ohio FFA Idea Collaborative establishes an annual cohort of agricultural educators to share ideas and to develop and implement clear, comprehensive, peer-reviewed plans that will empower teacher and better prepare them to assist students from all backgrounds on their agricultural education journeys.
How the Idea Collaborative Can Help Teachers
- Develop a plan to work with your local FFA chapter officers to create a welcoming environment for all students
- Discuss strategies for facilitating a comprehensive agriculture education program that meets the needs of students of varying economic statuses
- Learn ways to create classroom and laboratory environments that serve students with mobility challenges or physical limitations
- Gain resources to address students with a wide range of skills and abilities to give each student what they need to succeed
General Information
- The cohort will consist of no more than 10 ag teachers annually working collaboratively with industry professionals.
- Teachers will participate in at least six trainings, all expenses paid (teacher mileage, substitute reimbursement, meals, and housing, over the span of one school year with at least two of these being in person (potential to miss up to 4 school days).
- The FFA chapter of each teacher will receive a $1,000 stipend for local project implementation.
- Applications for the collaborative open on May 1 and close on July 1.
