Officer Candidate Information

Officer Candidate Informational Session (Virtual) – March 8, 2025
Officer Interviews – April 5, 2025

The process to become an officer for the Ohio Association FFA is lengthy but extremely rewarding. You began that process when you enrolled in your first Agriculture Education class. The experience you have gained through classroom instruction, your supervised agricultural experience program and FFA have all helped you develop the necessary skills to serve as a leader in the FFA.

At the state FFA convention, select individuals have the opportunity to appear on stage and contend to serve as an Ohio FFA Officer. Those individuals will be selected using the process found in the materials located at the bottom of this page.

The year as an Ohio FFA officer is a year of service. The decision to run for a major office should not be made lightly or without a sincere commitment to serve. Ohio FFA officers have many duties that require extensive travel and numerous days away from school and home. While the Ohio FFA Association pays the expenses incurred by the officers in performance of their duties, officers routinely incur minor personal expenses that cannot be reimbursed.

If you have the desire to serve the FFA members in Ohio and have the support of your family, school, and FFA advisor(s), you should consider participating in the officer selection process. The officer selection process will examine the attitudes and abilities of each officer candidate and reveal which individuals have most completely developed their leadership skills.

If you have any questions about the duties of an Ohio FFA officer, please visit with your chapter advisor or contact the Ohio FFA Program Manager,Β Katy Endsley.
