Professional Development

The Agricultural Education Service provides teachers of agriculture with numerous opportunities to hone their skills in an effort to stay current with the latest changes in the industry. The following technical updates are provided to teachers at a nominal cost through collaborative efforts between the Ohio Department of Education, the Ohio Association for Agricultural Educators, The Ohio State University, Wilmington College and Central State University.

Ag & Industrial Power Technology Professional Development

When: December 8-9, 2022 
Where: Greene County CC, Xenia, OH and ATech Training Inc., Walton, KY
This professional development opportunity is for the Industrial Power Technology pathway through hands-on training with industry leading trainers from ATech Training Inc. Key discovery points for this training include Electrical Circuit Attributes: Voltage, Current, Resistance, and Power; Basic DVOM Usage; Electromagnets; Solenoids; Relays; Electric DC Motors; Troubleshooting Opens, Shorts, Un-Wanted Resistance; Analyzing Circuit Failure; and Diagnostic Strategies for Malfunctioning Circuits.

New Teacher Success Series

When: December 12, 2022
Where: Ohio FFA Center, Columbus, OH
The New Teacher Success Series workshops are designed for 1st, 2nd and 3rd year teachers in all Agricultural Education programs, pathways ad licensure venues who value professional development opportunities. Attendees will collaborate with teachers statewide to become more efficient and prepared for the early years of the teaching profession. This is the second meeting of the series this school year to support teachers through current issues and upcoming activities in the Agricultural Education calendar.
