Professional Development

The Agricultural Education Service provides teachers of agriculture with numerous opportunities to hone their skills in an effort to stay current with the latest changes in the industry. The following technical updates are provided to teachers at a nominal cost through collaborative efforts between the Ohio Department of Education, the Ohio Association for Agricultural Educators, The Ohio State University and Wilmington College.

New Teacher Success Series Part 1

This series of workshops is designated for 1st, 2nd and 3rd year teachers in all Ag Ed programs, pathways and licensure venues who value professional development opportunities to collaborate with teachers statewide to become more efficient and prepared for the early years of the teaching profession. We will meet three times annually to provide continued support throughout the year reflecting current issues and upcoming activities in the Ag Ed calendar throughout the school year. This workshop’s focus is around the classroom circle of the three-circle model (Classroom/Laboratory, FFA, SAE). Topics include Expectations, Resources, Policy and Procedures, National FFA Convention, Membership.
